Annette Taylor-Anderson's work is distinctively innovative in both form and technique. She transposes images created by computer (whether graphic or photographic) by a digital printing process, using inorganic ceramic colour pigments on to the tile surface.

The product is scratch and sun resistant and when used externally (on a frost-resistant base) suitable for cladding etc.

Where her work gains further strength is in her exploitation of the age-old tiling tradition called tessellation. That is the achievement of a mesmerizing effect by the multiplication of one single image or pattern. Although each works well as a single image, once repeated the whole by far exeeds the one.

Tiles are 197 x 197mm: £26.50 each up to 1sqm (25 no.) and thereafter on a sliding scale.

Piccolpasso

piccolpasso

The Picolpasso studio may now be found in Hampshire but traces of the original training in Maejolica painting designs and techniques (from college in Faenza) are always evident.

No two are ever the same; and as with all good design one never tires of the exuberance and panache of the brushwork.

Currently available on a handmade base (nominal 10.5 x 10.5cm) which mix well with Mexican background tiles. Soon to be produced on 13 x 13cm, in gloss and matt finish.
